Web PAN has been rewritten to take advantage of newer web technology and to improve performance. Web PAN was designed to enhance performance and layout for users. The Web PAN release is required to develop and release future web functionality. The release does not address changes/updates to CICS PAN functionality or informational data
What’s Different?
- The language the program is written in changes from the old web PAN run on the mainframe using net.data code to new web PAN using the java/WebSphere environment.
- Changes in the web environment were made in response to campus feedback about old web PAN.
- Notification Selection
- Selection criteria remains the same, however they are laid out in a more intuitive design.
- Action codes can be highlighted instead of manually entered and found in a separate menu
- “All Dates” added as date selection criteria

- Inbox
- Old PAN listed all Inbox results in one long list and could be time consuming to load. New PAN returns results in several pages.
- Navigational tools added to jump between pages or go directly to a page.
- “Delete All Read PAN” option added, so that PAN do not have to be individually checked off.

- Audit Log
- Like Inbox, results are now listed in pages of 10 PANs.
- Navigational tools added to jump between pages or go directly to a page.
- Reviewing PAN
- Functionality and layout of PAN remains unchanged.
- Navigational footer added to bottom of PAN to allow scrolling through PAN without having to return to inbox, directional tools, comments, and forwarding.
- Comments are added via a pop-up window.
